Jack Trevor Story (March 1917 - December 1991)
Jack Story was a writer of novels, scripts for the films and television, as well as short stories and newspaper columns. These activities brought him lots of money which he spent as quickly as possible. After working with us sometimes in community arts at Bradford College, Jack thought he might as well apply for the newly created post of Writer in Residence at Milton Keynes, UK, the New Town in Buckinghamshire originally planned simply to make Bletchley bigger. He got the job and was encouraged to carry on writing and publishing, even starring in his own television show about life in Milton Keynes. True to his nickname “hard luck Story”, a strike by Independent Television technicians meant hardly anyone saw the finished series.
